GREAT NEWS!!!

We got the greatest news while we were outside bike riding...My sister called and told us that she is PREGNANT!!! She is 5 weeks and due in mid-February! We are SO EXCITED!!!!

Toilet Humor...

Avery comes out of the bathroom earlier with her nose crinkled up like she had smelled something stinky...This is what she says to me:

"When you are on the potty and you sneeze, it makes you toot."

New School

Avery started her new school this week. Well, it's more of summer camp until August. But I'm already impressed. Pre-K will have Math, Science, Social Studies and Reading classes. They have computer classes and foreign languages in PreK-4 as well. Avery will start French in August. I told Shae that she's going to come home and say "Oiu Papa"

Seems so advanced for PreK-4 but that seems to be the norm nowadays!

Avery loves it. Her teacher says she's very well behaved and plays great with the other kids. She only got in trouble for talking during nap time! (that's my chatterbox!)

Metamorphosis

Avery asked me if I knew what 'METAMORPHOSIS' was this morning. I played dumb and said no because I wanted to hear what she had to tell me about it. She said "It's when a caterpillar goes into a cocoon and turns into a butterfly"

Pretty impressive for somebody who isn't yet 4 years old!

Avery and I were watching Cast Away on TV this weekend. Here are some of the quest ions that I had to answer…

“Why is that man talking to that ball?”

“Can that ball talk back?”
“Is that ball his friend? Mom, I have a ball and we are not friends…”

“Why is he making a boat out of sticks and not a boat like we have?”

“Where is his cell phone?”

“Why is his hair long? How come there are no ‘hair cutting people’ on his island?”

“Why did that plane crash? Our plane didn’t crash when we went to Disney or Colorado..”

“How come that man is happy for the fire? Daddy makes fire all the time and he doesn’t jump around like that?”

“Why doesn’t he take a bath? He looks all dirty and stinky..pee-yew…”

We took Avery to the Farmer's Market in Downtown this weekend...on the way back, we stopped through LSU's campus and took Avery to see Mike the Tiger..Mike swam right up to us and watched Avery and I for a few minutes....as if to say "hello" or maybe he was thinking "yummy"..It was cool being face to face with a tiger for a few minutes...he seemed curious and friendly. Avery thought it was cool too. She chattered about Mike all day.

Staying cool...

Avery found a way to keep cool in the HOT Louisiana heat..she started running through the sprinklers when Shae was watering the grass!
