Avery is normally very quiet and very well behaved in public. She really is a good kid and I never worry about taking her places. I did say normally.....she has her moments...I hate to brag on her too much because everytime I do...she has some public meltdown that has me eating my words...
Shay and Shawn's wedding was this past Saturday....Avery was a flowergirl, I was a bridesmaid and Shae was best man. The ceremony starts..The bridesmaids walk first and take position on the altar.There were 3 flowergirls and they made it down the aisle perfectly...and they looked like little angels! They took seats in the church pews with family members...
The ceremony begins and my daughter who is sitting in the first pew with my in-laws starts to WAIL. Not cry, WAIL....loudly....and then I (and the entire church) hears this...
"I WANT MY MAMA!!!!!!!!"
I look back and my mother-in -law is trying in vain to calm Avery down. Apparently she hit her head on the pew and was needing some mama love for the boo-boo.
I was stuck in my position on the altar. I was sorta mortified because at this point even Shawn and Shay turned around to see what was happening to make Avery scream like a banshee.
I could tell by the severity of the wailing that she had passed the 'point of no return' and would be upset for a while.
Thankfully my sister was sitting not far away and she had the good sense to snatch Avery up and take her to the back of the church where nobody could hear her.....
So don't brag too much about your kids being good ALL the time...they have ways to show you differently and it will be at the most inconvienent times!
