I'm in awe about how much Avery is learning in Kindergarten. When I was her age, kindergarten was a half a day and we took naps and played mostly. Times have changed!
Not only can she read most simple words, she can sound out just about anything else. She loves math which makes me happy because I was always scared of math in school! On nighs when she doens't have homework, she will ask me to write her out some addition and subtraction problems for her to work through. Her class is also learning about money and currency and they had a 'garage sale' in the class and she got to buy and sell items. I was glad to see that she came home with a little hot wheel car for her baby brother on the way :) Maybe she is turning a new leaf in that area??? They are also learning how to tell time...it's amazing...at 5 years old!
She's really into computer use too..she loves the Nick Jr website and can navigate that page better than I can. She loves learning and I am tickled at how much she just loves it and absorbs everything. LITTLE SPONGES kids are :)
I've heard 1st grade is pretty intense at her school so I am glad that she's learning so much in Kindergarten. Her teacher just raves about how smart and sweet she is...and the only issues is that Avery can be a little chatty in class, but we seem to have nipped that in the bud. She told me she wants to be a nurse like her Nanny when she gets older because she wants to take care of sick people. I hope she keeps her sweet and loving disposition always!
